The daughter of a minister and a musician, Victoria Burnett quickly realized that music and story were equally powerful tools of communication. She blends her skills as a teacher, librarian, singer, and performer to become what she calls a “Story Musicologist.” With a wonderful sense of playfulness and reverence for other cultures’ stories, she combines music and drama into a myriad of diverse folktales, legends, and stories for all ages. Burnett has appeared throughout the U.S., Europe, Africa, and Central and South America, including venues such as the Smithsonian Folklife Festival, the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and most recently as a consultant for the Walt Disney Corporation. “Victoria’s crystalline voice takes your breath away. It takes us to a place in history that touches our souls.” – Maury Sidlin, Guest Conductor, San Diego Symphony Orchestra
