Calling Young Leaders and Change-Makers in Appalachia! We want to help you tell your story!

On December 14th, 2018 the International Storytelling Center will present the first Story Summit for Appalachian Youth (SAY). This summit will offer young adults the opportunity to observe and practice how storytelling can explore issues and affect positive change in our communities. Learn to apply story skills and techniques to the causes you care about, and leave with a certificate of completion for your portfolio.

The event will feature a welcoming keynote speech with ISC President and UN Champion of Peace Kiran Singh Sirah, a presentation of stories in action from Appalshop’s Media Institute (AMI), and a workshop with award-winning storyteller and educator Adam Booth of West Virginia.

The event is totally FREE to those in attendance and a travel stipend for mileage is available, thanks to funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH). Breakfast, lunch, and swag are provided.

Post-summit opportunities include free webinars, social media idea exchanges, and a competitive internship at the International Storytelling Center.
