Anne Rutherford 8/14 Fri 2pm A
Description
Anne Rutherford is an award-winning storyteller whose enchanting, funny, and touching performances bring folklore, ghost stories, and personal (mis)adventures to life. Her shows sparkle with music—Anne sings and plays the mandolin—and vivid characterizations, including her original Wild West alter-ego, the adventurous Clementine Ryder, who often steals the show. A five-time champion of the Northwest Folklife Liars’ Contest, Anne’s tales are full of malarkey yet somehow ring true, earning her the praise of the Portland Tribune as “one of the finest professional liars in the world.” In addition to performing, Anne conducts workshops, works as a teaching artist in schools, tells at libraries, and produces the online show Good Liars Club with her husband, Norm Brecke.
