She has appeared at festivals, museums, arts centers, and theaters nationwide, including the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem. Armstrong is the recipient of the National Storytelling Network’s J.J. Reneaux Emerging Artist Award and a Bronx Recognizes Its Own (BRIO) Award. Her debut CD, The Cat Came Back: Stories and Songs with a Jazzy Twist, received a Parents’ Choice Silver Award.
