Description
Josh Goforth may have been born musical—he was playing piano in church at age four—but it was a sixth-grade performance by Sheila Kay Adams that sparked his love for the rich traditions of his home in Madison County, NC. Both accomplished storyteller and multi-instrumentalist, he plays nearly 20 instruments and has toured the world, performing at the Grand Ole Opry, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall. A three-time “Fiddler of the Festival” at Fiddler's Grove, he now shares his talents as a faculty member at the Academy for the Arts in Asheville, NC, while continuing to perform across the globe.
“Josh Goforth is a superstar in waiting. He shows the same promise I saw in Ricky Skaggs and Vince Gill in the 70s.” – Hugh Sturgill, producer
