Lipbone Redding 6/18 Thur 7/30 pm A
Description
Lipbone Redding is a one-man orchestra and award-winning collaborator who turns stories into songs—and songs into birds. Originally from North Carolina, he moved to New York City, where he busked nightly in the Uptown 6 train subway station in SoHo. By his second week, he was acting, writing, and producing. Redding has created evening-length events for the Museum of Sound Recording in Brooklyn, composed music for the Bill T. Jones Dance Company in Manhattan, and performed at Lincoln Center, the Vatican, the Chicago Museum of Art, and countless stages, festivals, backyards, quinceañeras, birthday parties, and house concerts.
“Lipbone Redding’s music stretches like a string that’s never-ending…his approach dips into jazz and blues with a New Orleans touch, swaths of Latin American tango with occasional dollops of Asian flair and American funk. Like an international rainbow, Redding’s style reaches out to touch many a someone.” —Herald CourierVisit Lipbone's Website All ticket sales are final.
