Stories for Change is a series of initiatives to empower at-risk youth within Appalachia to harness the power of story to be the change they wish to see in the world. The workshops and concerts are geared towards helping them overcome barriers. Through exposure to world-class storytelling training and performance, they learn skills that can transform their own lives, help them envision a better place for themselves, and be the story for change in a world where their stories matter.

Stories for Change currently serves over 1,700 underserved youth with tailored workshops, subsidized and affordable children’s concerts, and ISC’s first “Power of Storytelling” Young Appalachian Story Summit (YASS),  to be held in late 2018, ‘19, and ‘20.
